Dental implants

Dental implants, start to crown.

Two visits, about three months apart, with the same dentist both times. Planned on a 3D scan so there are no surprises in the chair.

The two visits

What happens, and when.

Dr. Park plans every implant on your scan first, so you'll see exactly where it goes before the first visit is booked.

Visit 1

Placement

60 to 90 min

Numbing, then a small titanium post goes into the jaw where the tooth used to be. Most people take ibuprofen that evening and go to work the next day. You leave with a temporary tooth if it's in the front.

3 months

Healing

at home

The bone grows around the post and locks it in. One quick check at two weeks. Eat normally on the other side.

Visit 2

Crown

45 min

We scan the healed implant, mill the crown in studio and attach it. It looks like a regular tooth and chews like one.

Need a bone graft first? Some patients do, usually when a tooth has been missing for a while. It adds a short visit and two to three months of healing. We'll know from the scan.
