New patients

Your first visit, step by step.

Sixty minutes, start to finish. Here's what to bring, what happens and where to park, so nothing about the day is a surprise.

Before you come

What to bring.

  • A photo ID
  • Your insurance card, or a photo of both sides
  • A list of medications, including vitamins and inhalers
  • Recent x-rays if you have them from the last 12 months. We can request them for you.

We text you a short health form two days before. It takes about five minutes on your phone, so you're not filling out a clipboard in the lobby.

Nervous? Tell us when you book.

We'll give you the longer slot, explain each step before it happens and agree on a stop signal. Noise-canceling headphones and a weighted blanket are yours if you want them.

The 60 minutes

What happens, in order.

Times are rough. If you have questions, the clock waits.

You sit up and tell us what's bothering you, what's worked before and what hasn't.

  3. 3D scan and x-rays

    15 to 25 min

Low-dose digital x-rays and a scan you can watch on screen.

  4. Cleaning

    25 to 50 min

Gentle and unhurried, with a timeout any time you raise a hand.

  5. Your plan and prices

    50 to 60 min

FAQ

New patient questions.

Something else? Call (408) 555-0177 or ask in the booking form.

It's been years since I saw a dentist. Is that a problem?

Not at all. A lot of our new patients haven't been in five years or more. We start with where things are today and never lecture you about the past.

Do you take my insurance?

We're in network with most PPO plans, including Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife and Guardian. We don't take HMO or DHMO plans. Send us your plan name and we'll check before your visit.

What if I don't have insurance?

Our membership plan is $29 a month and covers two cleanings, exams and x-rays a year, one emergency exam and 15 percent off other treatment.

Will the cleaning hurt?

It shouldn't. Tell us if your teeth are sensitive and we'll use numbing gel and go slower. You can stop us any time by raising a hand.

Can I get a price before treatment?

Yes. Every plan is written down with a price per line after insurance, and nothing starts until you say yes.

How long is the first visit?

About 60 minutes, including the exam, x-rays, the cleaning and time to go over your plan.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes. We see kids from age 6 when a parent is a patient here, and we can book family visits back to back.

What's your cancellation policy?

Give us 24 hours if you can. Life happens, so there's no fee the first time.
